Yellowtail Snappers

In the western Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean Sea, yellowtail snappers (Ocyurus chrysurus) grace the tropical reefs.  The tail is entirely golden yellow and a bold stripe of the same color continues along the length of each side.  The darker back above the stripes is dotted with series of small yellow patches.  The fish printed here was caught in reefs fringing the southern side of the Florida Keys and was printed on white unryu paper sprinked with flecks of gold foil that match the fish’s vibrant coloration.
